Comfort & Support
The light-weight characteristic of the Outlander backpack is a great feature that all travelers or hikers will love. I can assure you that straps won’t irritate you. Having soft, lightweight mesh material and plentiful sponge padding make them breathable and very comfortable to wear on shoulders with no shoulder aches even for long periods. The straps are fully adjustable via buckles. On either side of the bag, there are elastic case mesh pockets where you can put your water bottle or umbrellas.

It has 4 compartments with many storage pockets; the main one has 75% of the volume that makes it a nice roomy and spacious backpack. To keep your little valuables like keys, wallet, cards secure, this backpack has a zippered inner easy-reach security pocket. You can put things in different compartments and stay organized.
This Outlander travel bag comes with a free multifunctional carabiner that can be used to attach things or clip it to things like little camping gears. There are 10 different colors available for this backpack; pick the color you like.

Durability & Design
In terms of design, Outlander’s backpack boasts a sleek and stylish look. This backpack is for minimalists like me who make every effort to keep things comfortable and light while traveling or hiking. The backpack is very durable; the material used is high-quality ripstop nylon fabric which makes it water and puncture resistant. The nylon used provides long-lasting performance and great strength to hold heavy objects. It features a durable two-way abrasion and corrosion-resistant SBS metal zipper on both sides and across the backpack.
The zipper didn’t rust when this backpack was used in a wet environment. I liked that this backpackers bar-tacking at several stress points that helped to even out the stress uniformly throughout the pack that increases longevity without causing tear or damage. The zips have reverse design and run smoothly. You can get this backpack in 2 sizes; the 20L and 33L versions weigh 0.46 pounds and 0.5 pounds respectively.

– Comfortable, practical, potential lifesaver
We’ve just returned from 7 days of hiking with these beauties; both my daughter and I loved them. We have the smaller of the two sizes (20L) and found them perfect – they suit Frontier’s size requirements for a “personal item” and were light and COMFORTABLE for hiking in upper 90’s weather for mountainous 9-mile hikes in both North Carolina and Colorado Springs. They helped us conquer the legendary “Incline” of Manitou Springs and a fabulous bike ride all the way down Pikes Peak when hydration, stability, and comfort were paramount. They easily carried several water bottles, personal items, car keys safely zipped into the carrying pouch, light jacket, sunscreen, snacks, maps, phone, etc. (I even washed mine when we returned last night and it came out looking like new after I snipped a few threads around the zipper.) EVEN if it had not survived for another trip, these were WELL WORTH the price. And yes – I have gotten mine back into its pouch several times with ease. I traveled with this packed in my larger backpack until we were preparing for the day trips; she slid hers under the airplane seat easily. Both worked beautifully.

– Holds MUCH more than it looks like it could!
I wanted a smaller, lightweight bag to carry a few items for myself and my 2 dogs while hiking, especially during camping trips. I ordered the 20 L bag and despite how small the bag appears, with the use of the three different compartments, I was actually able to fit ALL my personal belongings for my upcoming 2 night camping trip, and not just the items for hiking, including some items for my dogs. I was fit into this small lightweight bag: PJs, two changes of day clothes, snacks, two textbooks for studying, small bag of misc items, my water bottle, dogs’ water bottle, toiletry bag, and a few other smaller items.

– Very thin fabric; there are better options available.
I was looking for a lightweight backpack to replace my diaper bag. Something smallish and sturdy for outings with my 4 and 1 year old. I purchased three similar backpacks from Amazon to compare: this one (New Outlander 20l), Gonex ultralight 25l, and Neatpack 20l. The New Outlander came in last place because, of the three, it had the thinnest/flimsiest fabric. The Gonex came in second. Fabric thickness/durability was similar to the Neatpack’s, but the Gonex had a couple features I didn’t care for. Firstly, the bottom of the pack was not reinforced in any way. Second, the ripstop fabric on the shoulder straps was noisy. My personal choice was the Neatpack. I liked the (more) substantial feel of the fabric, the fact that the bottom was double layer fabric, and how the straps and back of the backpack were made of a thinly padded mesh which seem more comfortable and quiet. I opted to return the Outlander. I can’t say how durable it actually is, just that I wasn’t as impressed with it as I was with the other options.
